Local Boarding Kennels

Advice for choosing boarding kennels

General advice from a website called 'FinfPet Boarding'

Premier Pets Hotel website

We were 'animal minded' people, who felt there was a need for a good quality, caring establishment that could offer first class care at affordable prices.

Over the last 20 years we have made serious improvements to the premises, and continue to do so yearly. We pride ourselves on accommodation and care for dogs, cats and small animals, that is second to none.

Belvoir Kennels website

Established in 1989 just outside the picturesque village of Colston Bassett, Nottinghamshire. The farm and kennels have unrivalled views across the Vale to Belvoir Castle and this peaceful location also provides an ideal setting for our cattery.

There are various sized kennels for small, medium and large dogs each with indoor heated sleeping areas and individual runs. Half the kennels have covered outside runs and half are completely inside.

Cats @ Ratcliffe

My name is Andrea, I took early retirement as a Community Matron in the NHS after nearly 40 years in order to pursue my dream of opening a luxury cattery, one that I would be happy to leave my cats in. Originally from Devon, I lived in Essex for 34 years before I moved to Eastwood in December 2014. My dream to own a cattery stems from seeing the poor facilities available when I needed to find a cattery for my two original cats Jasper and Dylan. Now sadly long passed over the rainbow.

Memorial Wood Pet Crematorium

Here at Memorial Wood we have been helping pet owners in their time of need since 2011. As devoted pet lovers ourselves we understand how very hard it is to say goodbye to our best friends and companions. Individual-only pet cremation is offered and we do not undertake any form of mass or 'communal' cremation or incineration of waste. We are a small, caring service in a lovely rural setting and can ensure that
each and every pet is handled with kindness. Our crematorium is located on our arable farm here on the Nottinghamshire / Leicestershire borders, with a reception office at our farmhouse.

Nottingham Pet Crematorium

Pets are part of the family, they are our friends and companions.  When the time comes for parting, we experience genuine feelings of grief and loss.  We know it is important that you feel clear in your own mind how and where you would like your pet to be laid to rest Nottingham Pet Crematorium offers your pet a dignified, respectful and totally individual service which we hope will give you some comfort and peace of mind at this sad time. We are proud to be members of the Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria.  We are the first crematorium in the Midlands to be Independently Inspected & Approved, ensuring you a first class service at all times.

Animals Asia

We LOVE this charity it was founded a year before our practice started and we have followed it's achievements over the years.  We have a sponsored bear in the China sanctuary called Billy named after Bill.

Founded in 1998, Animals Asia promotes compassion and respect for all animals and works to bring about long-term change. We work to end the barbaric bear bile trade, which sees over 10,000 bears kept on bile farms in China, and, according to official figures, about 1,200 suffering the same fate in Vietnam. Animals Asia has rescued over 500 bears, caring for them at its award-winning bear sanctuaries in China and Vietnam. Animals Asia also works to end the trade in dogs and cats for food in China and Vietnam, and lobbies to improve the welfare of companion animals, promote humane population management and prevent the cross border export of "meat dogs" in Asia. In addition, Animals Asia campaigns for an end to abusive animal practices in zoos and safari parks in Asia, and works closely with governing authorities to improve animal management and increase awareness of the welfare needs of captive animals.

Dogs Trust

Our practice works closely with the Dogs Trust in Wymmeswold Loughborough. The Dog's Trust mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.

Animal Accident Rescue Unit

Animal Accident Rescue Unit is a registered charity with a lifelong commitment to rescuing sick, injured, neglected and vulnerable animals and birds. The Charity provides a volunteer animal ambulance service to a vet surgery and then undertakes the necessary medical treatment and foster care for abandoned casualties. The Charity does not deal with healthy strays and unwanted pets. We will only collect those animals needing veterinary attention and are vulnerable because of condition, such as pregnancy, or age ( kittens or elderly animals) or badly neglected or injured animals and birds.

Vets in the community- University of Nottingham

The practice and our clients sponsor all the vaccines for this charity.  Vets in the Community is a project set up to provide free veterinary care to pets belonging to homeless and vulnerably housed people in the Nottingham area. It began in 2012, and runs at the Big Issue office in Nottingham.
